Getting artsy with a selfie. The Arizona sun shining through my Stetson creates a lacy shadow as I stand in front of the Bird Cage Theater in Tombstone.
I’m a latte-addicted, Euro traveler, old school German Hausfrau, fashionista, crazy cat lady who lives on the outer fringes of the American southwest.
I was born in England to a German-American Air Force family and grew up in the U.S. and Germany. After spending 10 years working for the U.S. Department of State, I switched gears and became a spokesperson for the U.S. Army in Germany. My career brought me to Fort Huachuca where I had to not only overcome the culture shock of living the United States again, but adjust to small town life in rural Arizona where the sound of ranchers wearing spurs at the grocery store and the sight of diners at the local Chili’s openly wearing weapons is a fact of life.
My childhood idol was Curious George. My innate sense of curiosity got me in to a bit of trouble in my younger days, but I sure did learn a lot. Apparently, I didn’t truly learn my lesson though and my compelling sense of curiosity still drives me to experience new things.
I love food, art, traveling, music, books, history and adore Native American culture. Coming up with just ONE theme (i.e., cooking or travel) for a blog was a non-starter. Writing about indulging my curiosity is a better fit.
At heart, I’m a story teller. Join me as I seek out adventures and new experiences and share my stories about them.
Oh, I may also have some hoarding tendencies. Check out my miss-mash stash of research and inspiration on Pinterest at Compelling Curiosity.
